Why I Joke
I suppose I could wax on about how I was born wanting to be funny (because I was—it’s totally my temperament) or about how I was a class clown wanna-be throughout all of my formal schooling (because I was) or maybe I could just say that I try to be funny because so much of life is not.
Or I could just leave it up to our dear Diane to explain. In one of the comments she left on my blog, she captured for me in an instant what it was that I am blogging for:
Laughter is a soothing balm to a weary soul, it is the perfume that attracts one friend to another, it is the cord that binds us together and lifts us toward Heaven in the toughest of times.Simply stated: A sad saint is one sad saint.
Not that I’m anywhere near sainthood.
But maybe I made you smile today.
And if I did, hooray!
The class clown wanna-be in me is smiling right back at ya.
